Colossians 3:2…”Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” God knows all of our thoughts. He knows everything we’ve thought in the past, everything we’re thinking now, and all future thoughts as well. Therefore, our thought life matters to Him, which means it is something we need to watch closely. Unbelief, pride, and selfishness are the sins at the heart of all other disobedience, and come from setting our minds on our selfish wants and needs independent of God. We need to proactively preach the gospel to ourselves regularly, so our minds are focused on things above. We need to pray continually (1 Thess. 5:17), giving thanks to God for Jesus, and asking for His help in all things. When we exercise faith actively, humble ourselves regularly, and selflessly consider our lives to be His, then He is most glorified.
