Job 38:33

Job 38:33…”Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you set up God’s dominion over the earth?” This has been our problem from Adam onward. Too often, we think we’re God, and live our lives as though we’re Him. The Lord questions Job here and shows him his limitations. We are wise to submit to the Lord, because He is both good and sovereign. Christians who lack joy and contentment reveal their distrust of the Lord. If we really believe He is good, and if we really believe He is sovereign, then we’ll joyfully rest in His will. Unbelief, pride, and selfishness hinder our enjoyment of Him in this life. Lives marked by these hindrances look similar to those of non-Christians. We need to repent and believe in the One who perfectly believed, and humbled Himself selflessly for our sake, and God’s glory.

  1. Thanks for posting your reflections on the Book of Job. For me this book is a wonderful gift God gave us to help us understand ourselves, to help us understand the human condition. God bless!
