Job 16:2

Job 16:2…”I have heard many such things; miserable comforters are you all.” Angry answers stir up passion, but fail to point people to the gospel, which is what we all need in the midst of suffering. What Job says of his friends is true of all of us; in comparison with God we are miserable comforters. When going through trials, only the Holy Spirit can comfort effectively, and Jesus offers the only real hope. Therefore, let us present the eternal hope of the gospel as our primary means of counsel.

  1. I like how you articulate the unreliability of Man, esp in the last sentence.
