Job 6:14

Job 6:14…”He who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty.” In his prosperity Job formed great expectations from his friends, but now was seeing their fallen nature (Eliphaz was not kind in dealing with Job’s suffering). This he compares to the failing of brooks in summer. Those who rest their ultimate expectations on humans, will be greatly disappointed; whereas those who make God their confidence, have help in the time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Those who make earthly gain their hope, sooner or later will be let down by it. We are wise to put all our confidence in the Lord, because His ways are perfect and unchanging.
