Job 4:7

Job 4:7…”Consider now: Who, being innocent, has ever perished? Where were the upright ever destroyed?” Eliphaz made three wrong assumptions about Job’s suffering: 1) People who love the Lord never suffer; 2) Those who suffer are being punished for their past sins; 3) Job, because he was suffering, had done something wrong in God’s eyes. It is true that those who promote sin and trouble eventually will be punished; it is false that in this life all of God’s people will avoid trouble and difficulty if they just have enough faith.
