Job 2:10

Job 2:10…”He replied, ‘You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God and not trouble?’ In all this, Job did not sin.” Job had been afflicted with physical sickness by the Lord in order to test his faith. We too need to remember our lives are not about our glory. God made us because of His desire to display His glory through us, especially in how we respond to suffering. We need to have an eternal perspective and understand that according to His word, sickness and death came into the world as a result of sin (Romans 5:12-14). Christ’s atonement on the cross was for the forgiveness of sins, not health and wealth in this life. Any teaching focused on the man-centered idea that we’re meant to be perfectly healthy and abundantly wealthy because of our faith is false. In the book of Job, this distorted theology is called “foolish.”
